WAYFINDING LIGHT (2015)
Brass, LED strip
Product Design - Year 1
Hallway lighting product. It is a brass wall object with a pattern cut out of it. It is only a millimeter thick so the pattern is easily transformable. In this way the pattern opens up or closes, causing more or less lighting. So for wayfinding there can be more light by gradually opening up the pattern if a door, stop or corner comes up.
The plus and minus sides on the shape of the lamp make each piece fit the next, making it a modular system. When it is totally closed, it will still allow enough light coming through.
